Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the "Contacts: Phone Dialer" ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect
Automatically Collected Information

When you use our App, we may automatically collect certain information about your device and usage:

  • Device Information: Device model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
  • Network Information: Network connection status and type (WiFi, cellular data).
  • App Usage Data: Features accessed, session duration, and crash reports.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
  • Provide, operate, and maintain the core features of the dialer and contacts app.
  • Display your contacts, call logs, and call screen.
  • Allow you to make, receive, and manage phone calls.
  • Improve user experience through anonymous analytics and performance monitoring.
3. Permissions and Their Usage
To provide its full range of features, the Application requests the following permissions:
  • CALL_PHONE: This permission is essential for the core functionality of the app, allowing you to initiate phone calls directly from the contact list, call log, or dial pad.
  • READ_CONTACTS and WRITE_CONTACTS: These permissions enable the Application to display your contact list, search for contacts, and allow you to edit existing contacts or create new ones within the app.
  • READ_CALL_LOG and WRITE_CALL_LOG: These permissions are used to display your call history (including incoming, outgoing, and missed calls) and to manage your call log, such as deleting entries.
  • READ_PHONE_STATE, ANSWER_PHONE_CALLS, and MANAGE_OWN_CALLS: These permissions are necessary to manage call states. They allow the app to detect when a call is active, incoming, or ended, which is required for features like the custom incoming call screen and after-call features.
  • POST_NOTIFICATIONS: On newer Android versions, this permission is required to show you important notifications, such as for missed calls or the ongoing call status.
  • SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW, USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT, and DISABLE_KEYGUARD: These permissions work together to display a custom, full-screen incoming call interface, even when your device is locked, allowing you to answer or decline calls easily.
  • READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: This permission is used solely to let you select an image from your device's storage to set as a custom wallpaper for the call screen. This is only requested on older Android versions (API 32 and below).
  • com.android.launcher.permission.INSTALL_SHORTCUT: We use this permission to allow you to create direct-dial shortcuts for your favorite contacts on your device's home screen.
  • INTERNET: This permission is used for basic network functionalities, which may include displaying ads or collecting anonymous analytics to help us improve the application.
  • WAKE_LOCK and VIBRATE: These permissions are used to keep the screen active during a call and to provide haptic feedback (vibration) for incoming calls or user interactions.
